about
I was on the road with Jimbo Mathus, playing in his rock n roll band. We were outside of Boston, and I was missing the love of my life — my dog Ralph Stanley. Jimbo was sleeping in the back of the Murder Van, and the rest of the band had gone off to explore the city. I stayed back, grabbed the van’s Stella guitar, and found a patch of grass. Lucinda Williams was the only thing I was listening to that week, and I think she moved through me when I started strumming. The words fell out of my mouth. I showed Jimbo my song when he woke up, and we started playing it a few nights later.
lyrics
I can't wait to see you
You're all that's on my mind
I'll be home as soon as I can
but it's gonna take some time
I just wanna do right
but I don't have a plan
I would give you all my lovin'
if it didn't feel out of hand
It's gonna take some time
I can't make a promise
I don't wanna lie
So don't wait for me while I'm runnin'
Cause I'm gonna take my time
It's gonna take some time
I can't wait to see you
You're all that's on my mind
I'll be home as soon as I can
but it's gonna take some time
It's gonna take some time

A lovely addition to the best project of 2023, that at some points feel like B-Sides, but is overall just as strong as the work that made it on "the record" Outer Estate
Erudite chamber pop that hearkens back to the elegant and experimental production of the 1960s, swinging from melancholia to playfulness. Bandcamp New & Notable May 13, 2016
Potent pop songs from this Ontario artist with an alternative edge thanks to toothy guitars & synths that go off like fireworks. Bandcamp New & Notable Nov 28, 2022

I’m late to the Margo Price party, it wasn’t until this Strays that I became obsessed and sing her songs and want to know every lyric of every song of every album
She has made.I love Prine, Deer Tick, the Idles and Ramones etc What’s special about Margo and the Price Tags, they are artists playing socially conscious psychedelic country rock, soul, folk and gospel, they have no limits and the Memoir “Maybe We’ll Make It” is outstanding. vinkyul07
